The scientists produced Ununpentium using atoms of americium-243 which were bombarded with ions of calcium-48 using a device called a cyclotron which is a research instrument with which several new elements have been first produced. This produced one atom of ununpentium. Element 115, Ununpentium - will probably be a basic metal. Nearly 75% of all the elements in the Periodic Table are classified as metals which are detailed in the List of Metals.
